In February 2024, a meeting on RFID-based identification systems in the municipal sector was held in Wappensaal in the municipality of Treffen am Ossiacher See.

The event was organized by the FCC together with the municipality of Treffen am Ossiacher See. Other interested municipalities participated in the event.

FCC, together with ELTE Group, had the opportunity to demonstrate the benefits to the municipality and waste collection companies of equipping containers with RFID transponders. The fully automatic system installed on the garbage trucks documents the work done by the waste collection company.

The biggest benefit for municipalities with access to the data is invoicing residents for the actual number of bin collected. An additional benefit of access to live data is the ability to respond quickly to resident complaints.
