Brief report on IFAT2022

Munich from 30 May to 3 June was the undisputed capital of the waste management industry. The trade fair attracted 2984 exhibitors and 119,000 visitors from 155 countries. The event demonstrated the huge potential of environmental technology and confirmed its position in the industry.

Managing Director of Messe München, Stefan Rummel assessed this year's fair as pure inspiration and a driver for the sustainable transformation of industry and climate-resilient communities. In contrast, Johannes F. Kirchhoff, Chairman of the IFAT Advisory Board, added: "The high international attendance at the trade show during this challenging time was impressive. It's great to see IFAT making such a strong restart, as it is a very important, sustainable driver for circular economy and the environmental industry."

IFAT Munich covered 260,000 square meters, occupying 18 halls and a large part of Messe München's outdoor area. In comparison: this year, 2984 exhibitors from 59 countries participated; in 2018, 3305 exhibitors from 58 countries participated respectively. Half of the exhibitors and visitors came from abroad. The start-up zone brought together 49 start-ups from 16 countries. The event was attended by senior political representatives, including from Egypt, Belgium, and Malaysia, as well as the environment ministers of Brazil and Singapore and many other international delegations.

During the fair, we presented our new products: a system optimizing monitoring, analysis, and control of vehicles and a 360-degree recorder with a bird's eye view. The greatest interest was aroused by the solutions included in the optimization. For new customers, the main focus was on RFID devices and dynamic scales.
